What makes us different? We like to think of many things and it starts with our name, our brand and what we stand for. Where many other companies started as web designers after building their first website for a friend we did not, Superweb started out commercially thinking about marketing and how we can get our clients trading online from the word go. We started life as a web directory ‘Portal’ called UK Superweb Online. Today the directory is still live and networks 34,000 pages that reach all four corners of the United Kingdom.

Cambridge Network is a limited company founded early in 1998 by a group of six organisations - 3i, Amadeus, Analysys Ltd, Arthur Andersen, N W Brown and Cambridge University. As the founders, each of these organisations has made a substantial investment in the Network. All are shareholders and Board members.
Professor Sir Alec Broers, then Vice-chancellor of Cambridge University, was the Network's first chairman. His successor, Professor Alison Richard, became President of Cambridge Network at the end of October 2003. The Network's CEO is Dr Peter Hewkin.
Since its inception, more than 20 other local companies and global organisations have made a significant financial contribution to the Network, becoming founder members. The Network has also welcomed over 1000 further members - both organisations and individuals.

The UK Web Design Association is a not-for-profit organisation established in 2001 to encourage and promote industry standards within the British web design and new media sector. The UKWDA is the largest internet association in Europe.

Nominet UK manages a central database of domain names ending in .uk. The company was established in 1996 and is recognised by the UK internet community as the official manager of the .uk Top Level Domain (TLD). Just as Companies House holds authoritative records for company names, or the DVLA for driving licences, Nominet maintains the database of .uk registered internet names.
Every organisation or individual connected to the internet is uniquely identified by a numerical address that is mapped onto a more memorable name. As a result, most countries have a central Registry - such as Nominet UK - to store these unique domain names. Nominet is not a governing or regulatory body, but provides a public service for the .uk namespace on behalf of the UK internet community.
