Transfer domain names from 1&1, Schlund + Partner, or GMX.net to UK Superweb

This page takes you step by step through the procedure for transferring a domain away from 1&1, Schlund + Partner, or GMX.net and into UK Superweb.

The transfer process involves the tasks that are described below. Following the transfer tasks, we provide information about tracking the progress of the transfer, and ICANN rules regarding rejections.

Transfer Task 1: Verify that the domain name is eligible for transfer

• The domain name has been registered for at least 60 days, and has been at 1&1, Schlund + Partner, or GMX.net for at least 60 days.
• The domain name is not in "client update prohibited" status.

Before you can transfer a domain, the Registrant and Administrative contact information must be up-to-date at 1&1, Schlund + Partner, or GMX.net, because it is these contacts who receive the transfer request and okay the transfer.

1. Log on to your account at https://admin.1and1.com.
2. In the "Basic Settings" section, click "Domains".
3. In the "Contact" menu, click "Edit Registrant Contact" or "Edit Administrative Contact".
4. In the "Data source" menu, click the "Use my user data as the Reg-C" item if your account contact information is up-to-date and should be applied to this contact. Click the "Let me use an alternative Reg-C" item if the Registrant or Administrative contact information should be different than the account owner information.
5. Select the "I am aware . . ." check box and the "Admin-C and Tech-C" option.
6. Click "Next".
7. Click "Submit".

Some TLDs require that you provide an authorisation code for your domain name, to provide an extra level of assurance that the transfer request comes from an authorised source.

To transfer a .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .us, .name, or .cc domain name, obtain the authorisation code from 1&1, Schlund + Partner, or GMX.net Log on to your account at https://admin.1and1.com.

1. In the "Basic Settings" section, click "Domains".
2. Select the check box next to the name you want to transfer, and click "Info".
3. The authorisation code displays in the interface. Copy and store it; you'll need to supply it when you submit your transfer request at UK Superweb.
4. Transfers of other TLDs do not require authorisation codes.

Before you can transfer a domain away from 1&1, Schlund + Partner, or GMX.net, the domain must be unlocked. Locking is a feature most registrars offer to prevent unauthorised transfers (hijacking) of domains.

1. Log on to your account at https://admin.1and1.com.
2. In the "Basic Settings" section, click "Domains".
3. Select the check box next to the name you want to transfer.
4. In the "Transfers" menu, click "Lock/Unlock".
5. Select "Unlock" and click "OK".

Once you have prepared the domain name at 1and1, you're ready to transfer to UK Superweb.
