Transfer domain names from Gandi to UK Superweb

To make sure your domain name can be transferred, check the following:

• The domain name has been registered for at least 60 days, and has been at Gandi for at least 60 days.
• The domain name is not in "client update prohibited" status.

Before you can transfer a domain, the Registrant and Administrative contact information (especially the email address) must be up-to-date at Gandi, because the Administrative contact receives the transfer request and okays the transfer.

1. Log on to your account at gandi.net.
2. Navigate to the contact information for the domain name you want to transfer.
3. Update the Registrant and Administrative contact information if necessary.

Some TLDs require that you provide an authorisation code for your domain name, to provide an extra level of assurance that the transfer request comes from an authorised source.

1. Log on to your account at gandi.net.
2. Navigate to your list of domain names.
3. Click the domain name you want to transfer.
4. On the "domain details" page, you can obtain the authorisation code (called authorisation key by Gandi).
5. Copy and save the authorisation code that appears, to include in the transfer request you submit at UK Superweb.

• Contact Gandi and ask them to retag the domain name to ISP tag UK Superweb.
• Alternatively, you can retag/detag directly through Nominet, for a fee.
• When you transfer a .uk domain name, use the Auto verification transfer method.
• You can submit the transfer requests to UK Superweb and Gandi in any order.
• If you submit the transfer request to UK Superweb first, you must submit the request to Gandi within a week.
• If you submit the transfer request to Gandi first, you must submit the request to UK Superweb by the next 8th day of the calendar month.
• Transfers of TLDs other than those named above do not require any codes or tags.

Before you can transfer a domain name away from Gandi, it must be unlocked. Locking is a feature most registrars offer to prevent unauthorised transfers (hijacking) of domain names.

1. Log on to your account at gandi.net.
2. Navigate to your list of domain names.
3. Click the domain name you want to transfer.
4. On the "domain details" page, click "unlock".
5. It typically takes 24 to 48 hours for the Whois to reflect this unlocking. We recommend that you submit your transfer request at UK Superweb shortly after this period elapses.

Once you have prepared the domain name at Gandi, you're ready to transfer to UK Superweb.
