Does your business offer a service or product?

If your business sells a product can I buy it online now?

If not, why not? Remember the reasons why you started out in business, why you started your company. Your products or service were unique, you could do it better than the competition, you wanted to get your message out there and made available to widest possible audience and make consumers life better! Then why are you not doing it, maybe complacency has set it? Regardless of your reason you can do something about it and get back on the track you did not even realise you had veered off! This article is not about teaching the art of sucking eggs its just a little more than a gentle reminder that you can make more of a difference - still.

Two years ago somebody mentioned the term e-commerce to me (or e-business) and my mind kicked into overdrive with the endless opportunities ahead. What can I sell? How much will it cost? Who will buy it? One thing that I did not ask myself was which market I would offer my product to; the answer was there, the World Wide Web.

Then reality set in and I realised that stock control, distribution systems, high street business premises etc. were not my forte (well not back then anyway!) So I decided that the only way I could get involved was to market other businesses online, businesses that already had a product businesses that already had a distribution system in place.

Two years later the company launched its first client's into the e-commerce market. Today we develop and maintain many bespoke e-solutions for clients across the globe.

I believe that the question is not: Should we sell online? But When? And How? Strong words? Online trading is the wave of the future, businesses or people that grasp and understand how it works will be better placed to gain market share, increase sales and strengthen their business.
